Thomas Ray Peerman, 69, of Norris City passed away on Monday November 16, 2020 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Evansville Indiana. He was born on July 9, 1951 the son of Robert Joseph and Helen (Splittorff) Peerman. Thomas graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1969. He married Deborah Marie Harvey on January 18, 1974, and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2018, Thomas served in the United States Army where he served four years in active duty and then an additional 12 years in the Reserves. Thomas was a truck driver and worked for various companies throughout the years as an owner/operater of his own truck. He enjoyed many hobbies, however, gardening was his favorite way to spend his time.
Thomas is survived by two sons, Kristopher ( Margaret) Peerman of Bossier City, LA. and Joshua (Jennifer) Peerman of Norris City; his adopted mother, Laveda McGhee of Enfield; one brother, Kenny Peerman of Evansville, IN.; two sisters Carol Buttry of Carmi and Jane Miller of Enfield and six grandchildren, Avery, Brinley, Grace, Josephine, Brielle and Korbyn; his mother in law, Delpha Harvey of Norris City and two sisters in-law, Teresa Chasteen and Rhonda O'Neal both of Norris City. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Stephanie Peerman; two brothers, Gerald Peerman and Gary Johnson; and a sister Alice Sturms.
Graveside funeral Services and burial for Thomas Ray Peerman will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Union Ridge Cemetery with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Tom's memory to assist with funeral expenses and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City who is in charge of arrangements. In accordance with CDC and IDPH recommendations social distancing will be observed and masks will be required.
