     Thomas "Tom" Edward Batteese, 59, of Norris City, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023. He was born on October 30, 1963, in Eldorado, Illinois, the son of James Lewis and Norma (James) Batteese. Tom loved listening to all types of music and enjoyed working on model cars.  Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.
    
     Tom is survived by his mother, Norma Batteese of Norris City, IL; a son, Thomas Edward (Angelina) Batteese Jr of Fairfield, IL; three grandchildren, Axton, Mia and Summer; siblings, Deborah (Junior) Goodman of Farmersburg, IN, Michael Batteese of Norris City, IL, and Sherry York of Mena, AR; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, James Batteese, and an infant brother, James Albert Batteese.

     A visitation will be held for Thomas Edward Batteese from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Graveside services and burial will immediately at Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown, Illinois. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
