      Shirley Ann Eckles, 90, of Enfield, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Bethel Manor in Evansville, IN. She was born on November 14, 1934, in Springerton, the daughter of Lyle and Louise (York) Melvin. Shirley married Warney Eckles on February 28, 1981, and together they shared over 42 years of marriage, before his passing on March 27, 2023. She worked as a seamstress for many years. Shirley was a member of Springerton Christian Church and the Ladies Friendship Circle. Shirley loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

     Survivors include her daughter, Marsha (Raymond) Healy; stepchildren, Jerry (Paula) Eckles, and Loretta Smith; grandchildren, Kim (Zach) Douglas, Josh (Janette) Allen, Zach Allen, Justin Healy, and Abbey (Chris) Thomas; ten great-grandchildren, several step grandchildren, and a sister Martha Muehlenbein. Along with her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son Gary Allen, granddaughter Shannon Healy, great-grandson Knox Allen, and sisters, Nena Dye and June Dozier.

     Funeral services for Shirley Ann Eckles will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. Burial will be in Hammack Cemetery in Springerton. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. In lieu of flowers contributions in Shirley’s memory may be made to Springerton Christian Church and will be accepted at Stendeback Funeral Home, or by mail at 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
