Ronald Gene Kerns

   Ronald Gene Kerns,75, of Norris City passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. He was born on December 13, 1950 in Carmi the son of Al and Annie Victoria (Owens) Kerns. Ronald graduated from Norris City High School. He also joined the Army in 1969 and served during the Vietnam War. Ronald had attended Ditney Ridge Baptist Church. He owned and operated his own welding business and was a member of the Iron Workers Union. Ronald’s favorite hobbies were woodworking and fishing.

   Ronald is survived by his children, James (Ashton Vines) Kerns of Carmi, Charles Kerns of Carmi, and Heather Smith of Michigan; grandchildren, Xander Ray Kerns, Daxton Ray Kerns, Rayna Carol Ann Kerns, and Claire Duke; siblings, Debbie (Larry) Brown of Aurora, Co, Pat Robinson of Winchester, IL, Linda (Stanley) Morris of Iuka, IL, and Dale Kerns of Norris City; mother of his children, Bonnie Kerns; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Sandra Petro, Daniel Kerns, and Richard Kerns.

   Services and burial will be held at a later date in White County Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with services and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821 or by Venmo @jordanfuneralgroup. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with arrangements.
