   Richard Keith Winter, 83, of Carmi passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. He was born on September 24, 1942 in Chicago, IL, the son of Virtus and Helen Blanche (Musgrave) Winter. Richard served in the National Guard, and he also worked as a salesman. Richard’s hobbies included watching the Green Bay Packers and having family get togethers.

   Richard is survived by his children, Richard Jarrett Winter of McLeansboro and Sabrina (Brian) Shun of Franklin, TN; siblings, Alan (Teresa) Winter, Sheila (Doug) Westfall, and Kevin (Kelly) Winter; grandchildren, Isaac Shun and Liliana Shun; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virtus and Blanche; sister, Janet Woolsey; and brother-in-law, Kenny Woolsey.

   Funeral services for Richard Keith Winter, 83, of Carmi will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will follow in Newman Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Richard’s memory to Charles Ford Hospice In Harmony and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home or by mail to 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
