Regina Dawn (Dartt) Whitaker, 59, of Cooper, Texas, passed away on Thursday May 6, 2021 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. She was born on November 29, 1961, the daughter of James Royal Ramsey and Shirley Margaret (Frashier) Dartt. Regina graduated from Crossville High School in 1979, and went on to graduate from Wabash Valley College with an Associates Degree. She married Don Granville Whitaker on November 3, 2008 and he survives. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Baylor University Medical Center in the transplant department for many years.
Regina is survived by her husband Don Whitaker of Cooper. TX.; her mother, Shirley Dartt of Carmi, IL.; two sisters, Lisa Clark of Benton, IL. and Cheryl Loveless of Indianapolis, IN.; one brother Brian Dartt of Norris City, IL.; one step-daughter, Amanda Whitaker of San Diego, CA; a step-son, Kent Whitaker of Paris, TX.; four step- grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews, Cody (Kendra) Clark, Ian Mathew, Alyssa Dartt, Bryce Fishback, Andrew Dartt, Lindsay Dartt, and Bralan Dartt; three great nieces and nephews, Amilia, Clayton, and Ty; and her sister-in-law Desi (Glen) Fishback. She is preceded in death by her father James Dartt; one sister, Gayla Thompson; and one brother, Alan Dartt.
Funeral services for Regina Dawn (Dartt) Whitaker, will be held at 10:00 on Thursday May 13, 2021 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with burial at Marshall Ferry Cemetery in Rising Sun, IL. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 12, 2021 at the funeral home. Contributions can be made in Regina's memory to The Roads Church in Norris City or to Maunie United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
