Raymond E Mundy

     Raymond Mundy, 94, of Carmi passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. He was born in Hawthorne Township, IL on May 5, 1931 the son of Ira and Mary Helen (Schutz) Mundy. He married JoAnn L. McKee on April 28, 1956 and she preceded him in death on July 21, 2021. Raymond spent his entire life in Hawthorne Township where he farmed until 1985, when he was elected as the Hawthorne Township Road Commissioner. Raymond proudly served the residents of the township for 28 years, retiring in 2013. He joined the United States Army during the Korean War and served from January 1952 until January 1954, achieving the rank of Corporal.

     Raymond is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Kevin) York of Rockport, IN; two grandsons, Jordan York and Jacob (Hannah) York; half-brothers, Dan (Carolyn) Jordan and Bob (Carol) Jordan; and a nephew, Rick Mundy. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, JoAnn, brother Loren Mundy, nephew Alan Mundy and a niece Linda Roser Barnes.

     Graveside funeral services and burial for Raymond Mundy, 94, of Carmi will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2025 in Kuykendall Cemetery in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be in Raymond's memory to the White County Senior Citizens, 113 S. Walnut St, Carmi, IL 62821 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821 who is assisting the family with arrangements.
