Phyllis Keck

Phyllis Jean (Deig) Keck, 74, of Mt. Vernon died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at VNA Hospice in Evansville, IN. Phyllis was born October 5, 1931 in Posey County daughter of Andrew W., and Emma (Noelle) Deig. Phyllis was a homemaker and a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. Phyllis studied Art at Evansville College and was a member of the Posey County Art & Craft League, Posey County Historical Society, former member and Past President of Tri Kappa, Past President of the Mt. Vernon Garden Club, Member of Western Hills Country Club and Former Secretary of the Posey County Mental Health Association. Phyllis enjoyed painting and gardening.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Andrew Keck, Jr. of Mt. Vernon; her daughter, Krista Townsend and her husband Rex of Valparaiso, IN; her grandson, Brian Townsend of Valparaiso, IN, her sister Joyce Oeth and her husband Carl of Henderson, KY; her brothers, Harold Deig and his wife Dorothy of Mt. Vernon, IN and Beuford Deig and his wife Rosa Lee of Mt. Vernon, IN. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, April 7, 2006 at The First United Methodist Church, 601 Main Street, Mt. Vernon, IN. Friends may call from 4:00pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday at the Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street, Mt. Vernon. Memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon or the Posey County Relay For Life.
