Phyllis Emilie Foster

   Phyllis Emilie Foster, 77, of Carmi, passed away on October 3, 2026, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. Born in Carmi on December 13, 1948, she was the daughter of William Leonard and Alberta (York) Foster. Emilie belonged to First Christian Church in Carmi and owned and operated Cut and Curl Beauty Salon for more than 45 years. She enjoyed fishing, was a lifelong Cubs fan, and used her skills as a seamstress to make things for others.

   Emilie is survived by her stepsons, Charlie David of Carmi and Michael (Carla) David of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren, Makayla, Paisley, and Andrew; cousins, Greg (Karen) Ulery, Kathy Jo Wright-Blakemore, Scott Wright, and Mike Wright; and honorary son for 53 years, Joey Jordan of Carmi. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Alberta Foster and sister, Elaine Foster.

   A Graveside Funeral Service for Phyllis Emilie Foster, 77, of Carmi will be private. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with arrangements.
