Morris Wayne "Hop" DeLong

     Morris Wayne “Hop” DeLong, 61, of Maunie, IL, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 26, 2023. Morris was born on November 24, 1961, in Carmi, IL the son of Gene and Joyce (Edwards) DeLong. He spent his career working in the oil field, lastly for Campbell Energy. Morris enjoyed many things in life, including fishing, four-wheeler riding, caring for his dogs, listening to music, or simply going for drives with friends and family. He loved his family and was always willing to help them out and liked to spend time with them.

     Morris is survived by his sons, Justin DeLong and Jake DeLong  both of Maunie, IL, girlfriend, Peggy Aud of Maunie, IL; sisters Martha (Larry) Emmons , Barbara Boren and Cynthia (Bryan) Attebury, all of Carmi, IL; aunts, Betty DeLong of Carmi, IL and Doris DeLong of Maunie, IL; nephews, Nathan (Rita) Lueke of Norris City, IL, Bradley (Rachel) Attebury of Carmi, IL and Brenton (Adrea) Attebury of Carmi, IL; nieces, Angela (Chris) Lueke of Carmi, IL, Lesley (Arthur) Bohleber of Seattle, WA and Briley (Chase) Sutton of Carmi, IL and his loving dog Roxy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Michael Harold DeLong

     Funeral Services for Morris Wayne “Hop” DeLong will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, IL, with burial following immediately at Marshall Ferry Cemetery in Rising Sun, IL. Family, and friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Maunie United Methodist Church and will be accepted by Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL 62821.
