Michael Melendez

     Michael Edgar Melendez, 64, of Olney, IL passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 in Olney, IL. He was born on July 21, 1961 in Chicago, IL the son of Angelo Melendez and Claudette Faye (Burton) Akers . Michael married Tonya Lynn Crockett on September 17, 2002 and they shared over 23 years of marriage together.

      Michael is survived by his wife, Tonya Lynn Melendez of Crossville; children, Triniti Crockett of Carmi, Taylor Hays of Carmi, Tina Melendez of Chicago, Nick Hays of Crossville, Michael Hays of Carmi, and Tiffany Crockett of Norris City; siblings, Robert Melendez and Deborah Melendez; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard Melendez.

     At this time no services will be held for Michael Edgar Melendez, 64, of Olney, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Campbell Funeral Home at 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821, to assist the family with expenses.
