Maudell Rae Bowen

     Maudell Rae Bowen, 75, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022.  She was born on September 4, 1946, the daughter of Ray Edward and Miriam (Shouse) Bullard.  Maudell married George Robert Bowen in 1967, and he survives. She graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1964.  Maudell worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Second Probation District for 23 years. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of and rescuing animals, Maudell spent a lot of time in Florida and liked to go boating during her time there.  She enjoyed traveling and loved traveling to see her granddaughters.

    In addition to her husband, Bob Bowen, Maudell is survived by her son, Todd (Andria) Bowen of Pano Deftera Nicosia, Cyprus; two grandchildren, Olga and Magdalena Bowen; nephews; Billy Brown of Carmi, IL, George Bowen of Bowing Green, KY, and Brandon Bowen of Bowling Green, KY; and her niece, Sarah Brown of Newburgh, IN.  She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Suzanne Brown. 

    Funeral services for Maudell Bowen will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with burial at Union Ridge Cemetery new New Haven, Illinois.  Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Maudell's memory to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
