Mary Jane Wheeler

     Mary Jane Wheeler, 92, of Silvis, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois. She was born on April 26, 1930, in Norris City, Illinois, the daughter of Orville and Delia (Satterfield) Spence.  Mary married Clarence Wheeler on August 10, 1952, and he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Powell Baptist Church and later attended Northcrest Calvary Baptist Church. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, and most of all, spending time with family.

    Mary is survived by her children, Benjamin Wheeler, William Wheeler, and Julie Wheeler, all of Silvis, IL. and Laura Wheeler of Buffalo, IA; grandchildren, Christine (Jacob Sr.) Miner; Thomas McKee, Kevin (Kaitlynn) McKee, Mary-Jeanne McKee and Kelsey Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Jacob Jr, Isaac, Aiden, Hunter, Alana, Kacen, Azley, Sadie, Cole, Zenduya, Joseph, Kylen and Trevon. In addition to her husband, Clarence Wheeler, Mary is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Christine.

     Funeral services for Mary Jane Wheeler will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City.  Friends and family may visit from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Powell General Baptist Church or to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, who is in charge of arrangements.
