Lyndall Sue Beam

September 20, 1943 — June 29, 2025

     Lyndall "Sue" (Pyle) Beam, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29th, surrounded by her family. Born in 1943, Sue graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1961. She went on to pursue her passion for healthcare at Indianapolis Methodist Hospital, where she earned her certification as a Radiologic Technician in 1963. On November 28, 1963, Sue married James Beam at the First Baptist Church in Carmi.

     Sue dedicated 25 years of her professional life to Carmi Township Hospital, where she served with unwavering commitment and compassion. Her career continued at St. Mary's Warrick Hospital in Boonville, IN, where she advanced her skills and retired as an Ultrasound Technician. Her dedication to her work and her community was evident in her continued education and the care she gave to every patient.

     Sue was a devoted wife to her late husband, James "Jim" Beam, whom she lovingly care for until his passing in 2014. Her deep devotion extended to her children and grandchildren, to whom she gave her love selflessly and unconditionally.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Vera (James) Pyle and her husband, Jim Beam.

     Sue is survived by her children, Jamie Shawn Beam of Carmi, Suzette Beam-Byram of Evansville, IN, Carla Beam Nelson and her husband Clyde "Dovie" Orndorff of Webster Groves, MO and Felicia Green of Carmi. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, David Aaron Beam, Elizabeth "Sissy" Beam, Caleb James Beam, Ericka Byram, Tanner and Tobey James Nelson, and Hunter and Alivia Green; and one great-grandson, Landon Shawn Dickerson; her beloved brother, Leonard Lee Pyle and his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" of Burlington, KY and her dear sister, Lynn Kirk and her husband, William of Chadds Ford, PA; along with many loved nieces and nephews.

     Sue's legacy is one of compassion, dedication and love. She touched countless lives through her work and her unwavering support of her family and friends. Even in passing, she continued to give by donating her organs through the American Transplant Association, a final act of generosity that reflects the spirit with which she lived her life. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

     Funeral services for Sue Beam will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sue's memory to Pets At Risk, PO Box 2, Carmi, IL 62821 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
