Louise H. McGill

   Louise H. McGill, 99, of Carmi passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Carmel, IL. She was born on January 12, 1927 in Cottonwood, IL the daughter of Cecil and Mary (Blazier) Hendrix. Louise married Van Lane McGill on April 18, 1946 and they shared over 55 years of marriage together until his passing on July 24, 2001. Louise attended the Carmi Nazarene Church and Cherry Street General Baptist Church. She loved to cook, make quilts, and do crosswords.

   Louise is survived by her children, Phillip (Sara) McGill of Sparks, NV and Robert “Bob” (Sandie) McGill of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Danielle, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Josha, and Jesse; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two siblings, Lavern “Ed” Hendrix and Hilda Rankin.

   Memorial services will be held at a later time for Louise H. McGill, 99, of Carmi. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with arrangements.
