Linda Skelton

     Linda (Hale) Skelton, 78, of Evansville, IN passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at West River Health Campus in Evansville, IN. She was born in White County, IL on May 26, 1946, the daughter of Noble Wayne and Veda E. (Downen) Hale. Linda married Francis L. Skelton on June 26, 1981, at the Claremont Methodist Church in Evansville, IN. She was a graduate of Carmi Township High School and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Funkhouser Post #8. Linda retired as a cook at Evansville Mater Dei High School. Linda enjoyed flowers and gardening along with embroidering. She was a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews.

     Linda is survived by her husband of 43 years, Francis; two siblings, Everett (Deborah) Hale of Alexandria, IN and Nancy (Michael) Petrig of Evansville, IN; Francis' brothers and sister, Mary (Michael) Reese, Julie (Dale) Barton, John Pfettcher, Berta Kares,Terri Devine and Art Skelton all of Evansville, IN, and Patricia Toliver of California; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Veda Hale and a sister, Connie Hale on February 23, 1956.

     Funeral services for Linda Skelton will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Union Ridge Church in Norris City, Illinois with burial at Union Ridge Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Union Ridge Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice and will be accepted at the church or may be mailed to Campbell Funeral Home at 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
