Larry Kissinger

Larry Kissinger, 65, of Mt. Vernon, died Friday, April 21, 2006 at Vista Care Riverpoint Hospice Center in Evansville. Larry was born October 14, 1940 in Evansville, IN, son of Clarence F. and Mary E. (Pankake) Kissinger. He was a US Air force Veteran and a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon. Larry retired as an Electrician with General Electric in Mt. Vernon in 1994 after 30 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. Larry was involved with His children’s activities including coaching little league teams, all their sporting events growing up. He was very involved with his grandchildren, attending all their sporting and other events and encouraged them as well as all the other kids to stay involved in activities. Many of the area kids referred to Larry as grandpa because of his interest in their lives. His son, Kelly Joe Kissinger, his parents, brothers, Warren and Clarence Kissinger, an infant sister Linda Kissinger and his father in law, Walter Happe, preceded Larry in death.

He is survived by: his wife of 43 years, Doris (Happe) Kissinger of Mt. Vernon; sons, Danny Kissinger and his wife Wendy of Mt. Vernon and Monte Kissinger and his wife Angie of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Levi, Kelsey, Alison and Kurt Kissinger; brothers, Michael and Kenneth Kissinger of Evansville, IN; sisters, Glenda Houchin and Janice Jeffries of Evansville, IN; his mother in law, Dorothy Happe of Evansville and several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, April 24, 2006 at St. Matthew Catholic Church with burial in the Tupman Cemetery in Evansville with military rites. Friends may call from 1: 00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, and from 10AM until service time on Monday, at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street, Mt. Vernon. Contributions can be made to the Vista Care Riverpoint Hospice Center in Evansville, IN.
