Larry Dean Carter

Larry Dean Carter, 84, of Crossville passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL.  He was born on  June 25, 1939 in Phillips Township, IL the son of Claude and Lota (Spencer) Carter. Larry graduated from Crossville High School in 1957 and went on to marry Ruth Ann Stanley.  He had work for Babcock and Wilcox along with being a farmer.

     Larry is survived by his wife, Ruth of Crossville; four children, Stan (Joyce) Carter of Crossville, Eddie (Vicki) Carter of Dale, IN, Barry Carter of Newburgh, IN and Stephen (Heather) Carter of Fairfield, IL; seven grandchildren, three step-children; five great grandchildren. and a sister-in-law, Joanne Peters of Lawrenceville, IL.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, Rose Lee Wilson and Darius Carter and a step-grandchild.

    A service to celebrate the life of Larry Carter, 84, of Crossville will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry's memory to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is assisting the family with arrangements.
