Kendall Lathan Willis

Kendall Lathan Willis, 74, of Carmi, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at his residence. He was born February 3, 1952, in Fairfield, IL to JL “Pigeon” and Natalie “Dannie” (Smythe) Willis. He married Tammy (McClanahan) Willis on April 15, 1990, and together they shared 36 wonderful years. Kendall loved spending time at Old River Camp, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, fishing, and boating. He could often be found in his garage tinkering on projects, watching baseball, or serving as grill master at the barbecue. Above all, Kendall treasured time with his family and will be deeply missed.

Kendall is survived by his wife, Tammy (McClanahan) Willis, children: Aaron Willis of Enfield, Adam (Mary) Willis of Carmi, and stepson Andy Barrett of Carmi, sister: Lisa Willis of Newburgh, IN, and grandchildren: Mackenzie, Aidan, Reece, Cooper, Cannon, Callie, and Dravon, and great grandchild, Rhett. He is preceded in death by his parents, JL “Pigeon” and Natalie “Dannie” Willis.

A Celebration of Life for Kendall Willis, 74, of Carmi will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 3:00 until time of service at 5:00 PM. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with the arrangements.
