     R. Keith Hoskins, 73, of Carmi, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on August 21, 1949, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Kenneth L. and Lillian Bernice (Zihlman) Hoskins. Keith married Debbie Kay Conner on June 13, 2010. He graduated from Carmi Township High School in 1967. He then went on to complete his Bachelors Degree at S.I.U.in Carbondale. Keith then earned his certification of Banking from University of Wisconsin, Madison. His first jobs included working at Farmers Home, Charleston National Bank, White County Bank and finally retiring from First Bank in December, 2021. Keith went on to work for Botsch and Associates in 2022. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carmi, Carmi Kiwanis Club, and had served on the  Alpha Gamma Rho Alumni Board, the Police Pension Board, the Baptist Childrens Home Board, and  18 years on the Carmi School Board. He contributed to many other civic organizations over the years, and was the 2012 Carmi Citizen of the Year.

     Keith is survived by his wife, Debbie Conner Hoskins of Carmi, IL; his children, Ryan (Michele) Hoskins of Bowling Green, KY, Aaron (Sarah) Hoskins of Newburgh, IN; Nick (Lori) Hoskins of Towanda, IL, Melanie (Mike) Aslinger of Normal, IL, and his step-son, Mike (Ronna) Eyman of Fishers, IN; grandchildren, Gabe, Adam, Mayson, Violet, Noah, Makynzie and Levi; siblings, Phil (Carolyn) Hoskins of Carmi, IL, Laraine Brady of Gaithersburg, MD, Scott Hoskins of Carmi, IL. and David (Cindy) Hoskins of Carmi, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

     Funeral services for Keith Hoskins will be held at 10:30 a.m.on Monday, August 21, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Carmi with burial at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Carmi. Family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Brownsville School Foundation and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
