Juanita Short

Juanita Short, 83, of Norris City passed away at 12:25 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.  She was born in Omaha, IL on November 17, 1937, the daughter of Johnnie Claud and Inis (Rister) Awalt.  Juanita married Carl F. Short on June 6, 1956 and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2011.  Juanita was a farm wife and member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Norris City.

Juanita is survived by her sons, Randy (Jennie) Short, Rance Short and Paul (Joy) Short all of Norris City and Rick (Jill) Short of Broughton; a sister, Dorthy Johnston of Joelton, TN; eight grandchildren, Kara Hussmann, Meagan Short, Abbie Martin, Zac Short, Savannah Dorris, Seth Short, Briar Short and Alexa Rubenacker; and eight great-grandchildren, Siler, Alaina, Judson and Riggs Hussmann, Luke Short, Rhett and Vivianne Dorris and Ezra Short.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, Fae Swango and a brother, C.M. Awalt.

Private Funeral Services for Juanita Short, 83, of Norris City will be held with burial in IOOF Cemetery in Norris City.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Juanita’s memory to Shiloh United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 398 Norris City, IL, 62869 or the Linda White Hospice House and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City who is in charge of arrangements.
