Joyce Ann Turpin

   It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Joyce Ann Turpin, age 67, of Carmi, Illinois. Joyce was a beloved mother and grandmother, who died on August 24, 2026 in Hackensack, New Jersey.

   Joyce was born May 1, 1959 to Robert and Barbara (Wargel) Naas. In 1978, she married Jeffrey Turpin and built a life full of faith, family, work and service to others. Her career as a nurse spanned 47 years in both direct patient care and nursing administration. Joyce's faith was strong; she was a steadfast member of the Church of Christ. She was a light in the world and will be remembered for the care she gave to family members, friends, fellow church members, co-workers and all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Jessica (Ronnie) Adams of Mobile, Alabama and Jonathan (Shana) Turpin of Carmi, Illinois; her four grandchildren; her mother, Barbara Naas of Norris City, Illinois; and brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Turpin; and her father, Robert Naas.

   Visitation will be held at the Carmi Church of Christ on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10 am with a memorial service following at 11am.
