Johnny Goodwin

John “Johnny” R Goodwin, 61, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born in Mt. Vernon to John “Bill” and Bessie (Willingham) Goodwin on December 30, 1957.

Johnny worked as an auto mechanic and enjoyed working on vehicles and tinkering with anything in his spare time. He also like to watch IU Basketball and spending time with his family. Most of all, he loved to make people laugh. He was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Mt. Vernon.

Johnny is survived by his wife; Gina (Douglas) Goodwin, son; Joshua (Jesse) Goodwin, daughter; Rebekah Thompson, grandchildren; Kairi Thompson, Claire Goodwin, Elijah Goodwin, brothers; David, Jimmy, & Clinton Goodwin, sisters; Julie Becker, Jenny Hogan, Mary Cooney, and Amy Ewer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bessie, brothers; Marvin Goodwin, William Goodwin, and Walter McRoy, sister; Frances Walker.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Stendeback Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with visitation from 10 am to time of service.
