James Lowell Veatch

   James (Jim) Lowell Veatch, of Carmi, IL passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 76.

   Jim was born on October 10, 1949, to Eugene and Roseanne Veatch. Despite being a resident of Brazil, IN for the last few years, he lived most of his life in Carmi and still considered it home. He was fortunate to have many careers, dedicated friends, and a loving family.

   Jim is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ethan and Kelsey Veatch; daughter and son-in-law, Shana and Jonathan Turpin; sister, Ruth Haas; and grandchildren, Hayden Knight, Parker Veatch, Paxton Veatch, and Sonny Turpin. He was preceded in death by his parents.

   A small celebration of life will be held on March 27 at 5:30 p.m. at Carmi Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital
