Jacob Wheeler

Jacob C. "Jake" Wheeler, 22, of Carmi passed away Friday, August 31, 2012. Jake was born November 4, 1989 in Fairfield, IL the son of Harold T. and Jane Ann (Staley) Wheeler. He was a 2008 graduate of Carmi White County High School and a U.S. Army Iraq War veteran and was currently in the Army Reserves. Jake attended First Christian Church in Carmi.

Jake is survived by his parents, Harold T. "JR" and Jane Ann Wheeler of Carmi; his wife, Michele (Hiller) Wheeler of Troy, TX; a brother, Jeremy and Amber Wheeler of Norris City: two step-sons, Ethan Blanco and Dylan Stuckey; two nieces, Sidney Wheeler and Abbie Buttry; two nephews, Austin and Denver Wheeler; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Alma Doris Staley, his paternal grandparents, Harold and Norma Jean Wheeler and his girlfriend, Jessi M. Evans.

Funeral Services for Jacob C. Wheeler, 22, of Carmi will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church in Carmi with Steve McClure officiating. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery near Carmi with military rites by the Carmi American Legion and VFW. Friends may call at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Jake's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
