Jaclyn Hoscheid

June 7, 1983 — June 14, 2025

Carmi

With hearts full of sorrow and pride, we remember and honor the life of Jaclyn Hoscheid who passed away peacefully at the age of 42, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted wife, loving mother, courageous veteran, and cherished friend, Jaclyn lived a life of unwavering service, quiet strength, and immeasurable love.

For 23 years, she shared a deep and abiding love with her husband, Patrick. Together, they built a home filled with kindness, laughter, and devotion, raising two extraordinary children—Connor (21) and Bella (15)—who were her greatest joy and most cherished accomplishments.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Jaclyn served as a Hospital Corpsman with honor and courage during one of the nation's darkest hours. She answered the call in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, offering care and compassion amid chaos and pain. Her strength and calm in the face of tragedy became a beacon to those around her, and her service left a lasting legacy of bravery and hope.

Jaclyn is survived by her loving mother, Cindy; her devoted sisters, Karen and Amber; and her brother, Paul. Her presence was a source of light to her many nieces and nephews, who adored their "Aunt Jaclyn” and will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

In life, she was known for her gentle heart, her fierce love, and her incredible capacity to lift others even while carrying her own burdens. In death, she became a hero once more—giving the gift of life as an organ donor, and bringing hope to families she never knew. Her final act of selflessness was true to the way she lived: always giving, always loving.

She will be remembered as a woman of quiet grace and fierce loyalty. A healer, a mother, a sister, a wife, a friend. A patriot. Her absence is immeasurable, but so is the love she leaves behind.

A celebration of Jaclyn’s life will be held at a later date, to be determined by the family. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join in remembering her strength, her compassion, and the joy she brought to this world. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to The Wounded Warrior Project and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is assisting the family with arrangements.

Fair winds and following seas, Corpsman Hoscheid. Your watch is over, Shipmate. Rest easy, brave soul. You will be missed forever.
