Herman Winter
November 7, 1919 — January 2, 2012
Herman Winter, 92, of Carmi, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 at 10:10 pm at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro, IL. He was born November 7, 1919 in Carmi, the son of Edward John and Karolena (Kallenbach) Winter. Herman was a grain farmer and had been a gas truck driver for Rebstock Oil.
Herman is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and David Carter of Carmi; a grandson, Patrick Carter of Carmi; a sister, Marie Mann of New Harmony, IN; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Winter of Goshen, IN and Dorothy Winter of Carmi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Winter, two sisters, Bernice Dartt and Lena McCormick; and five brothers, Carl, Edwin, Chester, Leroy and Clarence Winter.
Funeral services for Herman Winter, 92, of Carmi will be Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in Reib Cemetery near Carmi. Friends may call on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
