Harrell Chilton

     Harrell Lee Chilton, 74, of Carmi, passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. He was born on May 10, 1949, in Omaha, Illinois, the son of James Gilbert "Gib" and Fern L. (Hillyard) Chilton. Harrell proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He served in Spain during Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator. Harrell loved his dog, Rowdy.

     Harrell is survived by his sister, Pat Rodgers of Carmi, IL, and a brother, Jim (Jan) Chilton of Villa Grove, IL; numerous nieces, Nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and his caregivers, Cindy Collins and Krista Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Delores Rice, Barbara Brown, and Mary Etta Gray.

     A private graveside service will be held for Harrell Chilton at White County Memorial Garden in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Baptist Children's Home and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
