Gilbert R. Eaton, Sr., 80 of Mt. Vernon, passed away Tuesday December 6, 2016 at his home. He was born December 9, 1935 in Evansville, the son of Charles W. and Grace June (Vincent) Eaton. He was first married to Louise Howard and later to Lisa Pope.
Gilbert had worked in many different venues in his lifetime. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his children, Dale, Gilbert, Jr., and Tyler Eaton, Gail, Sheila and Michele Eaton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, James Eaton; sisters, Wanda Brandle, Marilyn Smith Beverly, Marchand, Sharlene Church, Ruth Croffer and Kathy Walker.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday December 9, 2016 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services.
