Geoffrey S. Ward

Geoffrey “Junior” Steven Ward, 39, of Carmi, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026. He was born on July 8, 1987 in Highland, Indiana, to Steven Geoffrey Ward and Penny (Anderson) Morris. Geoff worked in masonry with his family and on a horse ranch that he loved during his time in Florida. He enjoyed time with his family – especially his nieces and nephews, fishing, and laughing with friends. He attended the Kingdom Baptist Church, and was baptized in September 2025. He will be remembered for the biggest cheesy smile ever.

Geoffrey is survived by his parents, Steven Ward of Carmi and Penny (Bernard) Morris of Opdyke, IL; siblings, Amy Ward of Carmi, Jeremy Ward of Carmi, and Amanda (Justin) Warren of Carmi; nieces and nephews, Brayden (Alyvia), Tristen, Adelyn, Willow, Arava, Abigale, and Harper; his dog Patches, who he loved more than anything; his grandmother Lynda (Coley) Anderson his Aunt and Uncle Trudy and Tim Konrath, his cousins Dan (Erin) Konrath, Jim (Faith) Konrath, Tony (Holly) Konrath, Micheal (Kaci) Konrath, Nicolle (Zack) Allega, Noelle (Andrew) Sargent, Misty (Trey) Wickstrom, Andrew (Chelsea) Konrath, Grace (Daniel) Cottier, Charity (Justin) Davis, Elisabeth (Joe) Kingston, and Paul (Hellen) Konrath, all their children; and many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: John Marion Anderson of Mount Vernon, Indiana, Ron and Nancy Mosner of Henderson, Nevada, and Walter J. Ward of Chicago, Illinois.

Graveside Funeral Services for Geoffrey Steven Ward, 39, of Carmi will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday August 6, 2026 in Melrose Cemetery in Carmi. Friends and family may meet at the graveside at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A reception will be immediately after at the Bradshaw Park Pavillion.
