            Franklin B. "Frank" Hardin, 68, of Mt. Vernon, IN passed away at 3:15 pm on Sunday, October 29, 2023. He was born in Evansville, IN on November 4, 1954, the son of Franklin Delano and Elizabeth (Cain) Hardin. Frank was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and went on to work for General Electric. While working with General Electric, he served as a member of their Safety Team. Frank also was a member of the Black Township Fire and Rescue for close to 20 years, where he served in many positions up to and including Deputy Chief. He was a member of Ridge Baptist Church in Grayville, IL and was a part of the First Baptist Church Men’s Group in Carmi, IL. Frank also helped with the Cherry St. Food Pantry. He enjoyed duck hunting, goose hunting, and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.

            Frank is survived by his three children, Dwayne (Cassandra Stewart) Hardin of Hendersonville, TN, Angela (Stephen) Ralph of Evansville, IN and Samantha Hardin of Geff, IL; two grandchildren, Austin McDurmon (Mallorie) and Grant Doherty; and a brother, Ron Hardin (Judy) of Mt. Vernon, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

           Funeral services for Frank Hardin will be held at 12:00 p.m.onThursday, November 2, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with burial at Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service  on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to Black Township Fire and Rescue in Mount Vernon, Indiana. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
