Edward W. Ticer, 46, of Carmi, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Harrisburg, Illinois. He was born on February 7, 1980, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Edward Ticer, Sr. and Lisa (James) Ramo. Eddie pursued many avenues of education over the years, including culinary studies, clergy training, and EMT school, and he never stopped learning. He was a collector of many things, including Hot Wheels, watches, and skulls. Eddie brought joy to many people and was always willing to help others. He loved reading the Bible, had a wild imagination, and especially cherished his two favorite people, his mom and sister. He brought laughter to those around him and enjoyed listening to and singing music. Eddie was also known by the nicknames Ammo and Gates.
Eddie is survived by his mother, Lisa Ramo of Carmi; sister, Tara Ticer of Carmi; brothers, Dustin Acord and Jeff Churchwell; several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Ticer, Sr. and his stepfather, Bill Ramo.
Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with arrangements. At the family’s request there will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with services and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W.
