Dusty Rhodes

     Joseph Eugene "Dusty" Rhodes Jr, 68, of Norris City, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, Illinois. He was born on April 6, 1955, in Carmi, Illinois, the son of Joseph Eugene and Lola Joyce (Ackerman) Rhodes. Dusty was a heavy equipment operator with Operating Engineers Local #318. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Enfield, Illinois. Dusty was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed raccoon and coyote hunting, farming, horse training, and raising hunting dogs.

     Dusty is survived by his children, Michael Josheph and Ashley Rhodes of McLeansboro, IL. and Kimberly Rhodes and Chad Sigler of Harrisburg, IL; grandchildren, Hunter Rhodes, Andrew Rhodes, and Emma Rhodes all of McLeansboro, Jaden Sigler, Cameron Ingles, Olivia Sigler and Cayden Sigler, all of Harrisburg, IL; siblings, Rebecca Rhodes-Stanley of Evansville, IN, Sharon and Craig Whitler of Bakersfield, CA, Lois and Rick Mercer of Princeville, IL and Brenda and Terry Moore of Albion, IL; several nieces and nephews; and his caretaker, Janet Ingram of Norris City, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents.

      A memorial visitation will be held for Dusty Rhodes from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
