Don Gibson, Sr

Don F. Gibson, Sr., 81, of Enfield passed away at 9:22 p.m., Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Phoenix Rehab and Nursing in Carmi. He was born November 21, 1933 in Henderson, KY the son of Floyd and Corine (West) Gibson. Don married Joann B. Cusic on June 30, 1966. He was a roustabout in the oil field and worked for Indian Creek Township mowing and maintaining the cemeteries. Don was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War and a member of Ditney Ridge Baptist Church in Norris City.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joann of Enfield; two sons, Don F. Gibson, Jr. and wife Virginia of Murfreesboro, TN and Steve Gibson and wife Kelly of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Brian, Jerod and Chris Gibson; and two uncles, Sonny West of Henderson, KY and Gene West of Evansville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Gibson and Corine Huffman.

Funeral Services for Don F. Gibson, Sr., 81, of Enfield will be at noon, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Pastor Chris Marsh officiating. Burial will be in Old Sharon Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
