Diane S. Peveto, 73, of Mt. Vernon passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Diane was born on March 12, 1947 in Evansville the daughter of Harvey and Mary (Weir) Niehaus. She is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Richard Peveto.
Diane resided in Louisiana for many years and was active in organizing and supporting the Toys for Tots organization. She also was a 15-year member of the Lion’s Club. She also liked crocheting and baking for her family and many friends. No matter where Diane was living, she enjoyed socializing with people. She was a good friend to many, making them laugh or being there for them through tough times. She absolutely loved her large family and cherished her time with them.
Diane is survived by her mother, Mary; daughter, Kimberly (Steve) Page; sons, Kenneth (Jessica) Harnishfeger, Robert Harnishfeger, Paul (Chasity) Harnishfeger, and Dustin (Jessica) Pellerin; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brothers, Dennis, Stephen, Brian, Cary, and Herbert Niehaus; sisters, Denise Miller, Susan Authement, Terri Niehaus, and Sherri Niehaus, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, father, brothers, Lester, David, and Jerry Niehaus; sisters, Linda Browning, Carolyn Harris.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the River Bend Food Pantry.
