Delmas Wayne Allen

   Delmas Wayne Allen, 61, of Centerville, IL passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Encompass Health Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born on February 24, 1965 in Eldorado, IL the son of Delmas B. and Mary L. (Vangampler) Allen. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1983 and then went on to get his bachelor’s degree at SIU in 1987. Wayne married Connie Sue Coston on August 15, 1987, and they shared over 38 years of marriage together. He was the head GED instructor at Job Corps in Golconda, IL and a farmer. Wayne was a member of the Crossville Missionary Baptist Church and a faithful follower of Jesus. His hobbies were fishing, carving, gardening, computers, calligraphy, storytelling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

   Wayne is survived by his wife, Connie Sue Allen; children, Anjelica (Steve) Maitlen of Huntingburg, IN, Liliana “Ace” Allen of Evansville, IN, and Delmas Luke (Kyneesha Dillworth) Allen of New Harmony, IN; grandchildren, Tatyn Wayne Allen, Loralei Allen, and Ophelia Allen; siblings, Karen (Dean) Lotz of St. Peter, IL, John R. Allen of Pineville, LA, and Mary Ann (Jody) Parker of Cape Girardeau, MO; mother and father-in-law, Judy and Ron Coston of Carmi; sisters-in-law, Julie (Tino) Delgado of Carmi and Ronda (John) Ratliff of Brownsburg, IN; uncle and aunt, Glen Vangampler of Carmi and June Vangampler of Eldorado, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Caleb Gene Allen; and several aunts and uncles, including Arthur Vangampler, who he farmed with.

   Funeral services for Delmas Wayne Allen, 61, of Centerville, IL will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will follow at Centerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wayne’s memory to Eldorado High School FFA and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
