Chauncey Baker

Chauncey Baker, 79, of Eldorado passed away at 9:58 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2019 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.  He was born in White County, IL on February 1, 1940 the son of Bertis Jefferson and Wilma Evelyn (Robinson) Baker.  Chauncey served in the U.S. Navy from February 1957 to March 1961 earning the rank of E3 Seaman.  After, leaving the service, he worked at a laborer and a truck driver.

Chauncey is survived by numerous cousins, including Terry Baker who cared for him and Josh and Catalina Baker who were like grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Randy Baker.

Graveside funeral service and burial for Chauncey Baker, 79, of Eldorado will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 in Kingdom Cemetery in Carmi where the Carmi American Legion and VFW will perform full military honors.  Visitation will be held after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
