Charles W. Brockett

   Charles W. Brockett, 90, of Norris City passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 in Evansville, IN. He was born on December 23, 1935 in Dale, IL the son of Harry Dale and Louella (Wooldridge) Brockett. Charles married Georgianna Smith on July 12, 1958 at Braden Valley Church west of Dale and they shared over 64 years of marriage until her passing on March 25, 2023. He attended First Baptist Church in Norris City. Charles was a Mason joining in 1958 as a member of Walpole Tuscan Lodge #630, and American Legion. Charles retired as a technician for Verizon. His hobbies included, working around his house and reading.

   Charles is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Kemal) Ibragic of Highland Village, TX; grandchild, Alexandra Ibragic of Evansville, IN; siblings, Joseph Dale Brockett of Benton, IL, Robert Eugene Brockett of McLeansboro, Samuel Barney Brockett of Highlands Ranch, CO, and Sherry Lee Huffstuttler of Aledo, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Dale and Louella (Wooldridge) Brockett; sister, Virginia June Tate; and wife, Georgianna (Smith) Brockett.

   Funeral services for Charles W. Brockett, 90, of Norris City will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Norris City. Burial will follow in Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton, IL with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charles's memory to First Baptist Church in Norris City and will be accepted at the church or mail to Campbell Funeral Home at 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL 62821.
