Brian Thompson

     Brian Thompson, 65, of Carmi passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN from complications from a fall. He was born on October 8, 1960 in Carmi, IL the son of Tony E. and Margaret Ann (Hosick) Thompson. Brian graduated from Carmi Community High School in 1978. On October 25, 1980, he married Nedra J. French and they shared over 45 years of marriage together

     Brian was a retired electrician, having worked in various industries including for RC Cola, Healy Electric, Champion Labs, Toyota and Citation Oil. He enjoyed traveling and camping with Nedra, supporting his grandchildren, Allis Chalmers tractors and collecting RC Cola items.

     Brian is survived by his wife, Nedra Thompson of Carmi; son, Jesse (Kassie) Thompson; grandchildren, Wyatt Pretzsch and Sloan Thompson; aunts and uncles, Dean and Sheila Hosick, Brenda Ingram, Cindy and Chris Shaffer; brothers and sisters-in-law,, Darrel French, Don (Terri) French, Jr., Pat Gaunt, Nancy Johnson, and Gaila (Clay) Garrison; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Margaret Thompson and sister, Toni Marchelle Finchem, grandparents, Roy and Norma Hosick and Claude and Leda Thompson, and a special cousin, Taylor Cokley.

     Funeral Services for Brian Thompson, 65, of Carmi will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. The family requests that everyone dress casual and wear a hat. Burial will be in Kingdom Cemetery in Carmi. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Brian’s memory to Coins for Cancer and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home or by mail to 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
