Brian Catlin

Brian Keith Catlin, 57, of Carmi passed away at 4:27 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born in Carmi on October 21, 1962 the son of Aubrey L. and Janice Sue (Burris) Catlin. Brian graduated from Carmi High School and went on to attend SIU Carbondale getting a degree in applied science. In his early years he worked for Mitchell Drilling and Platolene 500. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church and watched Sunday services every Sunday since he wasn't able to attend church. Brian enjoyed playing cards, pool and watching football and was an avid baseball player in his younger years.

Brian is survived by his mother, Sue; two sons, Cory Catlin and Kelly Catlin; two brothers, Michael Catlin, of Carmi and Troy (Mary) Catlin, of Evansville; uncle, Ray Burris, of Carmi; two aunts, Connie Burris, of Carmi and Stella (Paul) Knowles, of Grayville; a nephew and three nieces, Justin Catlin, of Phillipstown, Mariah Catlin, Abagail Catlin and Ashton Coultas, all of Evansville; two grandchildren, Garrett and Kaden Catlin and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Aubrey L. Catlin.

Funeral service for Brian Keith Catlin, will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Campbell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Brian's memory to White County Relay for Life and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
