Brenda Lee Prior

     Brenda Lee Prior, 63, of Carmi, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024. She was born on April 2, 1960 in Carmi, Illinois, the daughter of Herbert Lee and Shirley Ann (McClain) Bostic. Brenda was the granddaughter of the late John and Grace Bostic. She married her high school sweetheart Larry Allan Prior on June 12, 1976. They were married for 28 years until Larry's passing in 2005. Brenda worked as CNA many years and before retiring, she did in home senior care in her community. She enjoyed fishing, taking care of her lawn, making jewelry, crafting (which she had an amazing talent for), holidays with her family, vacations with Larry and showing their Mopar at car shows. Brenda enjoyed spoiling her dogs, Kira and Sophie, as well as her cat Skippy. She taught her family to face challenges head-on and how to never give in.

     Brenda is survived by her only child, daughter, Laura Lee (Scott Summers) Prior; two sisters, Sandi (Fred) Leuellen and Carol Ann (Bill) Lee; brother-in-law, Jessie Hise; her uncle, Robert " Jitter" McClain; and four nephews, Jessie Hise Jr, John Lytle, Mike Lytle and Shawn Fraisher. In addition to her husband, Larry Prior, Brenda is preceded in death by her parents; and a very special niece, Cheyenne Kaylee Hise.

     Per her wishes, Brenda will be cremated and laid to rest next to her husband at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 29. 2024, at Melrose Cemetery in Carmi, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Brenda's memory to Pets At Risk or the White County Senior Citizens in Carmi. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
