Bonnie Martin

Bonnie Jean (York) Martin, 72, of Mt. Vernon, died at 3:30 AM, Sunday, June 12, 2005 at the Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehab Center in Mt. Vernon. Bonnie was born January 21, 1933 in Mt. Vernon daughter of Robert J. and Harriett (Patrick) York. Bonnie married Robert “Bob” Martin on August 23, 1950 and was a housewife and Sunday School Teacher at the Pentecostal Church in Mt Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Jack York in 1964 and Ronald York in 1996, and a sister Alice Ray in 1939.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert “Bob” Martin of Mt. Vernon, IN; 2 sons, Robert C. Martin of Radcliff, KY and Daniel R. Martin of Evansville, IN; a daughter-in-law, Connie Martin of Mt. Vernon, IN; 4 grandchildren, Leslie Michelle Miller, Jonathan Daniel Miller, Cari Dione Muller and Robert Martin; 4 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Landon, Xavier and Nicholas. brother, Robert York of Mt. Vernon; 5 sisters, Betty Medcalf of San Antonio, TX, Carolyn Shuck, Judy Winiger, Patty Koontz and Connie Thompson all of Mt. Vernon.
Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. Dallas Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
