Billy Gene Horn

   Billy Gene Horn, 89, of Enfield passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Wabash Senior Living and Rehabilitation in Carmi. He was born on February 5, 1937 in Greenville, KY the son of Wilty and Ruby (Massey) Horn. Bill married Janice Kay Williams on January 31, 1972, and they shared more than 52 years together before her passing on December 2, 2024. After school, Bill moved to Chicago and started a window washing business, beginning a lifelong entrepreneurial path. Over the years, he operated Ecko Mobile Homes, Ecko Motel and Restaurant, BJ Construction, and BJ Bar and Grill. He also helped construct Tequilas Mexican Restaurant and was a lifetime member of Enfield Christian Church.

   Bill is survived by his children, Jimmy (Cheryl) Horn and Johnny (Renea) Fields both of Enfield, IL, and Tiffany Horn of Lebanon, IN; grandchildren, Ashley (Blaine) Oglesby and Billy Wayne (Courtney) Horn; great-grandchildren, Billy Jacob Horn, Danika Horn, Weston Smith, and Warren Oglesby; siblings, Susie (Ed) Gill of California, Ann Rynearson of Lebanon, IN, Laura Cox of Lafayette, IN, Betty Mahan of Lafayette, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilty and Ruby Horn; wife, Jan Horn; daughter, Loretta “Lori” Horn; siblings, John Horn, Charles Horn, William Horn, Robert “Bob” Horn, Claude “Tom” Horn, Marjorie Welsh, Doris Horn, and Mary Buckham.

   Funeral Services for Billy Gene Horn, 89, of Enfield will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. Burial will follow in Enfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to Enfield Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
