Betty Ann (McMahan) Johnston, 60, of Golconda, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare, IL. She was born on May 26, 1964, in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Howard and Betty Sue (McEwen) McMahan. Betty worked as a paramedic and a certified nursing assistant. She also worked with family counseling. Betty enjoyed crocheting and quilting and loved spending time with family.

Betty is survived by her mother, Betty Sue McMahan of Golconda, IL; her son, Jerod (Jamie Kukuk) Gibson of Grayville, IL; three grandchildren, Ayva Gibson, Brilyn Gibson and Ezra Gibson; siblings, Sandra Shields of Golconda, IL, Steve McMahan of Norris City, IL, and Kenneth McMahan of Golconda, IL. She is preceded in death by her father, Howard McMahan; a son, Christopher Gibson; and a grandchild, Jayden Gibson.

Graveside funeral services for Betty Ann (McMahan) Johnston will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Prospect Cemetery in Broughton, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Betty's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses and can be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
