Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend.

Betty Ruth (Egbert) Beets of Chickasha, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the age of 79.

A private family ceremony will be held at Stokes Chapel Cemetery in Crossville. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Betty was born on July 7, 1946, in Carmi, Illinois, to Wallace “Tom” Egbert and Sarah (McDaniel) Egbert. She graduated from Carmi Community High School in 1964 and married the love of her life, Stephen Beets, on March 9, 1965. Following Stephen’s service in the U.S. Navy, they made their home in Chickasha, Oklahoma, where they built a life centered around family, hard work, and community.

Betty was a dedicated worker throughout her life, holding positions at PET Milk Foods, Grady Memorial Hospital, The Pet Shop & Grooming, and Wee Care Learning Center, before retiring from SPA for Special Young Adults. She also managed King’s Inn Restaurant and proudly owned the Blue Lounge. Wherever she worked, Betty was known for her kindness, strong work ethic, and caring nature.

Above all, Betty’s greatest joy was her family. She loved cooking and baking for her children and took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love and laughter.

She is survived by her sons, Greg (Barbara) Egbert, Raymond Beets, and A.J. (Jeannie) Beets; her cherished grandchildren, Chyrstal (Chris) Martin, Tiffany (Curtis) Boyd, Brandon Egbert, Stephen Beets, Ben Beets, Stephanie Egbert, Destiny Beets, Kammy Shipley, and Brayden Provence; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Cayleigh Martin, Cooper Martin, Aiden Duke, Jaxon Duke, Addison Boyd, Barrett Boyd, Lincoln Boyd, one Boyd on the way, Bentley Beets, and Nova Beets.

Betty is also survived by her siblings, William (Anna) Egbert, Wallace (MaryAnn) Egbert, Glena (Delbert) Kelley, Carol (Van) Naylor, and Michael (Kim) Egbert, along with many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Beets; her parents; and her brothers, Robert Egbert, Les Egbert, Larry Egbert, and Eddie Egbert.

Betty will be remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the lives she touched.
