Audrey L. Payne, 73,, of Broughton and formerly of Norris City, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born July 22, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Jarvis and Clara (Stiers) Gregory. Audrey married Floyd Payne on June 30, 1963 and he preceded her in death October 31, 1987. She was a former member and past president of the Norris City Lioness Club and enjoyed cooking, playing the accordion, cards and working puzzles.
Audrey is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Steve McMahan of Norris City and Clara and Ray Barnes of Broughton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Tracy Payne of Norris City, Johnny and Rosetta Payne of Clarksburg, WV and Lloyd and Sheila Payne of Mt. Carmel; a step-son, Carl Payne of Griffith, IN; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Art and Mary Gregory of Columbus, OH and Gerald and Sue Gregory of Hammond, IN; and several nieces and nephews including a niece that she raised, Marcella Gomez of Alvardo, TX,
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, a step-daughter, Betty Carter, a granddaughter, Telena Gail McMahan; a sister, Marion Stone; and four brothers, Michael, Leroy, Gary and Junior Gregory.

Funeral Services for Audrey L. Payne will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City with Tim Gholson officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Wabash Christian Retirement Center, Memory Care Unit and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
