Anna Young

Anna M. Young 82 of New Haven, passed away December 26, 2020 at Carmi Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born July 25, 1938 in New Haven, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Margaret (Parks) Travelstead.

Anna had worked in Housekeeping in Hospitals. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and baking.

She is survived by her son, James (Mildred) Smith; daughters, Alexandra Sandy (Edgar) Munro, Mary (Rick) Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Elizabeth Travelstead. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her daughter, Brenda; brothers, Jim, Joe, Jack, Harvey and Tom Travelstead; sisters, Fannie Burnett, Wilma Jean Trageser, and Florence Travelstead.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with burial in Marshall Ferry Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be required. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com.
